OUR DREAM HOME
In the mid 1980's my dad and I built a cabin on Coyote Circle in Black Hawk. It didn't have much of a view but was a great getaway. Driving there we passed 4 lots that had panoramic views at the south end of Coyote Circle. In the 12 years we owned the cabin none of the lots were ever for sale or built on. After watching a Log Cabin Living episode on HGTV 4 years ago, I was curious to see what properties were available in Gilpin County. Much to my surprise one of those 4 lots was for sale. I mentioned it to my 102 year old dad and he said "go for it" and I did.
When casino gambling began in Gilpin County in 1991 property values soared and property taxes went way down. I knew that in building a home the location was outstanding. It is only 45 minutes from home in Arvada. And there is a 270 degree panoramic view from various home locations, including Mt. Evans, Grays and Torreys 14ers to the south, various high 13ers to the west, and the dense Black Hawk forest to the east. The changing of the aspen in the fall is a sight to behold from every angle.
